For the first round of the Self-Published Sci-Fi Competition 3, The Space Girls have been allocated 25 books to read.

For this initial ‘slush pile’, each member of The Space Girls team will read 30% of each book. We then vote Yes or No on whether we think it should go through to the next stage. (Some members have decided to read each book we are allocated in full, which is amazing!) This first allocation round will finish around the end of November.

The 10 books that have the highest Yes votes will then go through to part 2, with each team member reading the rest of the 10 books. The top 2 books will then be our semi-finalists, and will be announced at the end of January.

(Wondering who is on the Space Girls team? See my previous blog post, Introducing The Space Girls Team!)

In this blog post, find out about the 25 books that we will be reading. I will link to the Goodreads page for each book, so you can see the full blurb and information.

I am really looking forward to getting started on our allocation. I’ll share my first impressions of these picks as I go (based on the 30%), and will be writing full reviews for books I read in full.
