Last week I posted just 2 blogs: a book spotlight post and a book review.
I usually post 3-4 times a week on my blog, and so I’ve decided to go with weekly updates on what’s happening on the blog so it’s less overwhelming. You can see last week’s update (blog posts from w/c 18th October) here.
Last week was a little quieter as I was away until Tuesday night so I posted just 2 blog posts: a book spotlight and a book review. You can read about them below.
Book Spotlight for Pretty Deadly by Kelsey Josund
Pretty Deadly was released on 26th October so I was excited to help celebrate its launch with a spotlight post!
It’s a dark fantasy retelling of Cinderella (not YA), and as I love retellings it caught my eye straight away! In my post I have an extract that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
Read my spotlight post and the extract here.
Book Review of Seadogs and Criminals: Book 1 by Alex Fisher
Seadogs and Criminals: Book 1 is Alex Fisher’s debut novel. It follows the story of Joseph Winter, a criminal in Victorian London who ends up chasing after the legendary Lost Loot with a band of inmates. It’s a great tale that follows the cast as they escape from prison, find a ship and start their search for the treasure.
This is a great debut novel, filled with all the elements for a great heist story. I really enjoyed the fast-paced plot and the mystery, as well as the main cast of characters. Each one felt well-written and memorable, and I am really looking forward to reading part two to find out what happens!
You can read the full review here.
Plans for this week
This week I should be back with my regular schedule with 2 author interviews (and possibly a blogger interview), 1 book review, and about my weekend at a gaming event in Blackpool. I’m currently trying to catch up with the interviews — I’ve been busy and gotten behind on scheduling these!
